The Foundation
The Region of Murcia’s Fundación Universidad Empresa was created in 1988 as a “Link between University and Business” by the University of Murcia, the Region of Murcia's Chamber of Commerce, industry and navigation, the business association CROEM, the INFO, and a large number of companies acting individually. Ten years later, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena was added to the list when it was separated from the University of Murcia.
Today we have the same aims as we did back then: to encourage and develop shared knowledge, dialogue and cooperation between the University and business to promote entrepreneurship, growth and economic development in both the Region of Murcia and within our wider social context. This is a mission we carry out across three broad areas of activity:
Innovation, training and jobs.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without the support and collaboration of the more than 300 public and private institutions that underwrite our foundational values and encourage the work of the Foundation.
We act as an axis of knowledge and R&D transfer between the University and business; we encourage the workforce placement of university graduates and regulated professional training in the Region of Murcia, oriented towards their career paths and goals; we manage their work experience and international mobility grants, and we support them in their search for work. And, via ENAE Business School, our business school, we respond to the demand for specialised and language training adapted to the needs of today’s job market.
We also invest in ideas as the foundation for economic and personal growth. That is why we invite entrepreneurs, researchers and businessmen to share their projects and plans with us, knowing they will receive our full support.
